BAWKU WEST DISTRICT ASSEMBLY PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
The Bawku West District Assembly, under the leadership of the District Chief Executive (DCE), has supported 80 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the district on February 17, 2026 with various items and cash amounts to help them engage in income earning activities to support themselves and their families. The items included 30 deep freezers to 30 persons and cash amounts of GH¢3,000 each to 50 individuals.
The DCE expressed gratitude to the President for the timely release and increase of funds aimed at enhancing the living standards of PWDs. He urged chiefs and community leaders to demonstrate compassion and motivate PWDs to seek assistance, stressing that the fund is meant for all PWDs and is not politically driven. He added that the district assembly through the DFMC will monitor to ensure proper use of the items and funds.
Mr. Alariba Azumah Samuel, the President of the PWDs, expressed appreciation to the government for this support and encouraged recipients to utilize the resources wisely.
