CREATION OF BAWKU WEST DISTRICT
The Bawku West District lies in the Upper East Region of Ghana. It was created in 1988 under local government system of 1988.
The Bawku West District Assembly was established in 1988 by Legislative Instrument (L.I.) 1442 as one of the District Assemblies in the Upper East Region of Ghana.

VISION
To become a highly professional local governance institution that creates opportunities for effective participation in decision making process and human resource development in partnership with other public sector organizations and the private sector.
MISSION
To mobilize all human and material resources for an overall development of the people in the District in an environment of effective, efficient and participatory local government structure.
